In our daily work providing custom hairpieces for men, we often meet clients with extremely high standards for details. This story is about an ongoing journey of optimization, from “durability” to “invisible edges.”

Customer Needs: Durable, Backward Styling, and No Visible Base

This client proactively reached out to us, expressing his wish to customize a full skin mens toupee. He was very clear about the effect he wanted:

  • Durable and long-lasting, suitable for extended use

  • Full backward styling, with the hairline showing no exposed skin base

These two requirements, in fact, posed a design challenge. The thicker the skin base, the more durable it is – yet thicker skin also becomes more visible and less natural-looking.

Our Recommendation: Using Silk Mesh PU + Special Front Edge Design

After thoroughly understanding his needs, we recommended silk mesh PU (Gaze PU) as the foundation material. We explained:

“Compared to regular PU, silk mesh PU integrates a layer of gaze within its structure, greatly enhancing its tear resistance. With a thickness controlled at 0.08mm, it remains tough without being overly bulky.”

For the design, we specifically proposed using the “undervent edge” technique. We explained to him:

“At the front hairline, we will use an undervent edge, which means the PU edge is folded and sewn in reverse. Visually, this conceals the PU border and achieves a more natural, invisible hairline.”

The client approved this technical solution. In his reply, he wrote:

“Sounds very reasonable, especially the undervent edge treatment. I’ve faced the problem of exposed PU edges before, and this should solve it.”

Once the plan was finalized, we immediately arranged production.

First Delivery: Great Quality but a Minor Regret

After one and a half months of meticulous production, this customized mens hair replacement system was finally completed. Before shipping, we thoroughly checked all details, including hair density, edge construction, color, and size, and sent it to him promptly.

Soon, the client replied:

“Overall, the hair quality and look are great. But when wearing it, I can still see the PU base slightly. Is there any way to fix this?”

This feedback caught our attention immediately. We contacted our factory right away.

Second Upgrade: Full Edge Undervent Treatment to Solve the Issue

We quickly reached out to the client to explain the situation and offered a solution:

“We’re willing to upgrade and remake a new version for you, adding undervent edges to all sides (except the back), especially widening the coverage near the ear areas to prevent any base exposure.”

The client was touched and replied:

“I didn’t expect you to be so responsible, willing to bear the cost of rework. Your after-sales service makes me feel very assured. I look forward to this upgraded version.”

We re-initiated production. This time, we ensured the undervent treatment was added to the front and both sides.

Final Result: Client Satisfaction and Long-Term Cooperation

After completing the second upgrade, we shipped the improved custom hairpiece along with detailed wearing and care instructions. Upon receiving it, the client sent photos and feedback immediately:

“This is perfect! The sides completely conceal the PU, the hair volume is light yet natural – exactly what I wanted.”

He added at the end of his email:

“From now on, I will place all my mens hair system orders with you. You not only have great technology but are also truly responsible. I feel very at ease customizing with you.”

Summary: A Good Hairpiece Requires Communication and Responsibility

In this service, what we gained was more than technical refinement – it was a deeper understanding of client communication and responsibility. Every customer who chooses HairNotion’s custom hairpieces for men is placing trust in our brand.

We will continue optimizing every process detail, listening to customer feedback, and ensuring that each hairpiece for men is not only “wearable,” but also “comfortable and reassuring.”
