Base Materials & Quality

HairNotion Technical Brief
“Cheap Lace Front” ≠ Low Quality
Goal: Deliver salon-grade naturalness, all-day comfort and 6-12 month durability at an entry-level price point.
-
Base Architecture
a. Swiss Lace (64 g/m², 110 denier) – 1” depth across forehead only.
• Honey-coloured thread matches light–medium scalps; can be tea-stained for darker tones.
• 14-16 holes/cm² give 1:1 hair egress → vanishing hairline.
b. 0.06 mm PU (thin-skin) perimeter strip – 1 cm wide, ear-to-ear.
• Bonds in 4 seconds with low-viscosity glue; stretches 280 % to eliminate lift during workouts.
• Lace/PU junction is zig-zag stitched, not welded—prevents hard seam & itching. -
Hair Stock
• 100 % Remy human hair, Vietnamese double-drawn, 35 % grey-free ratio.
• Cuticle intact, same-direction; silicone-free acid bath only → no chemical heaviness.
• 8–20” lengths available; <5 % short hair (<4”) in each bundle → density looks consistent to tips. -
Knotting Matrix
• Single split knots, 2 hairs per knot on lace; 12-14 knots/cm² (130 % density) at hairline.
• 1-pick single hair, reverse-tied for 0.5 cm back—creates “growing-from-scalp” swirl.
• PU perimeter receives V-loop, 0.8 mm return—no black knot dots, yet survives 4 N pull test. -
Comfort Specs
• Total weight: 75 g (10” unit) – 30 % lighter than standard 0.10 mm full-PU.
• Breathability: 110 g/h moisture vapour transmission (MVTR) at 37 °C.
• Anti-bacterial bamboo-polyester tape option on PU—lab tested 99 % staph reduction after 48 h. -
Durability Benchmark (factory in-house, 2023 batch)
• Shampoo cycle test (30 °C, 10 N combing): passed 86 cycles ≈ 6-month daily wash.
• Colour fastness: 4–5 grade after 5 % H₂O₂ lift to level 9.
• Bond retention: 12 days average with Walker Ultra-Hold before perimeter lift. -
Price Control Levers (why we can offer “cheap”)
• Lace used only where it’s seen—saves 40 % imported Swiss yardage.
• Hair sourced at origin during annual harvest; no mid-traders.
• Automated 3-needle lace knotting for rows 3 cm back; hand-tie reserved for first 2 rows only → 22 % labour reduction, no visual compromise. -
Client Fit Tips
• Bleach & tone knots only on lace; avoid PU loops—prevents early tearing.
• Recommend thin-skin perimeter replacement every 3–4 months; lace front can last 9–12 months if removed with 99 % alcohol, not citrus oil. -
Shipping Pack
• Individually boxed with mouldable foam forehead curve—unit arrives ready-to-wear, no fold crease.
• Free 0.03 mm full-PU backup strip for quick on-the-road repair.
Bottom line: You get an undetectable Swiss-lace hairline, feather-light thin-skin comfort, true Remy longevity, and factory-direct savings—all spec’d to pass salon QA without the salon markup.
Factory Craftsmanship

At HairNotion, we reject the notion that “affordable” must mean “compromised quality.” As your dedicated factory-direct partner, we’ve engineered an end-to-end production system specifically designed to deliver premium-grade lace fronts at accessible price points—without cutting corners. Here’s how our factory structure ensures every piece meets exacting standards while maintaining value:
🧵 4 Specialized Craft Worker Groups (Precision Through Expertise)
Our production is divided into four dedicated artisan teams, each hyper-specialized to eliminate cross-contamination of skills and maximize consistency:
– Lace Preparation Team: Master technicians handle lace thinning, dye-matching, and edge finishing—ensuring seamless blending and natural scalp simulation.
– Hair Selection & Processing Team: Experts source and prep 100% Remy human hair (or premium synthetic blends), sorting by texture, color, and density for uniformity.
– Hand-Knotting Specialists: Artisans with 5+ years’ experience tie each strand individually using our patented “micro-knot” technique—guaranteeing secure attachment and zero shedding.
– Finishing & Styling Team: Final touch specialists trim, set, and style the unit to perfection, ensuring realistic parting and movement.
Why this matters: By isolating each step to dedicated experts, we reduce errors by 40% compared to generalist workflows. No “jack-of-all-trades” compromises—only mastery at every stage.
🏭 Dedicated Production Lines (Zero Cross-Contamination)
We operate four separate production lines, each optimized for specific product tiers:
– Line 1: Standard Lace Fronts (cost-efficient, high-volume)
– Line 2: Premium Swiss Lace (ultra-thin, translucent base for invisible wear)
– Line 3: Custom-Order Units (tailored density, color, and lace size)
– Line 4: R&D & Prototyping (testing new materials/processes)
Why this matters: Budget units never share equipment or workflows with premium lines. This prevents “cheap” materials from diluting quality standards—ensuring every lace front meets its designated tier’s specifications. No “one-size-fits-all” shortcuts.
🔍 12-Point Strict QC Protocol (Quality Built In, Not Added On)
Quality control isn’t a final checkpoint—it’s embedded at every stage of production:
1. Raw Material Inspection: Hair and lace undergo lab testing for purity, strength, and colorfastness.
2. Lace Thickness Validation: Each base is measured to ±0.02mm tolerance using digital micrometers.
3. Knot Security Test: Every 100 knots are stress-tested for tensile strength.
4. Density Mapping: AI-assisted density scans ensure 100% uniformity across the front hairline.
5. Color Consistency Checks: Spectrophotometer readings against client swatches.
6. Edge Transparency Review: Hand-inspected under 10x magnification for visible knots or uneven thinning.
7. Washing & Drying Stress Test: Units are washed 3x to simulate real-world wear before final QC.
8. Final Visual Audit: Senior inspectors check for flaws under studio lighting.
9. Packaging Integrity Check: Units are sealed in humidity-controlled bags to prevent damage en route.
10. Batch Traceability: Every unit is logged with production data for full recall capability.
11. Client-Specific Compliance: Custom orders cross-verified against spec sheets.
12. Pre-Shipment Random Sampling: 5% of each batch is independently re-tested by our QA lead.
Why this matters: We reject the industry norm of “final inspection only.” Our protocol catches defects before they’re made—saving you returns, replacements, and reputational risk.
💡 The HairNotion Difference:
Factory-direct means no middlemen, no markups, and full transparency. We control every variable—from raw material sourcing to final packaging—so you get true value: professional-grade craftsmanship at factory pricing. Usage Guide & Tips

HairNotion Factory-Direct Guide
“Cheap” lace fronts that still look expensive: what to sacrifice, what you must never cut corners on
1. Density – how “thick” is still believable?
Stock-level “cheap” units are almost always 130 % (light-medium).
• 90-100 % – only for mature clients with bio hair thinning or very fine Caucasian/Asian hair.
• 130 % – universal “TV density”; safe for 18-45 yrs, straight or body-wave.
• 150 % – pony-tail / Instagram density; adds ± US$8-12 factory cost, but looks bulky on ≤55 cm length.
Rule of thumb: keep front 1 cm at 100 %, gradually increase to chosen density. Ask for “graduated” or “HD light” mapping—our stock machines do it free if you write “Grad-100-130” in the order note.
2. Colour without calibration = giveaway
a. Knots
• Anything darker than #4 must be lightly bleached (single strand only) or the hairline will dot.
• “Cheap” usually means un-bleached; add US$3 for our “1/2 bleach only front 1” service – worth it.
b. Root & blend
• Choose a root 1-2 levels darker than your client’s crown, not the parting.
• For synthetic mix (<US$80), stay within 1 tone; human hair under US$120 can be lifted one level only—any more and the cuticle cracks.
c. Grey
• Pre-mix 5-10 % synthetic grey in the front 2” if client is >30 % grey; factory charge is US$4 and it saves a re-dye.
3. Cap architecture—where the money really goes
• 13×4 vs. 13×6: 4” parting is enough for side part; 6” allows centre & zig-zag but needs ear-tab reinforcements (adds US$1).
• Stretch panel: always demand 2 cm poly-strip at crown; cheap units skip this and the cap splits in 4-6 weeks.
• Lace type
– Swiss (0.08 mm) – undetectable, tears in 4-6 weeks if client is rough.
– HD (0.05 mm) – 20 % more fragile, 40 % more invisible; charge US$5 extra.
– French (0.12 mm) – best balance for “budget but durable”; we use this on every sub-US$100 order unless you specify otherwise.
4. Attachment—no tape shine, no lift in 7 days
- Skin prep
70 % alcohol → scalp protectant (Walker Scalp-Guard or Our #0 primer) → air-dry. - Tape matrix
• Perimeter only for daily removal: 1.5 cm width blue tape (Walker Ultra-Hold Mini).
• Full bond for 10-14 days: use 0.5 cm strips, leave 2 mm gap between strips for sweat escape. - Lace melt
• Knot sealer on underside first (prevents shedding when glue seeps).
• Thin layer ghost-bond HD—brush INTO the lace, not on top; press with cold damp towel for 90 s. - Hairline finish
• Powder concealer 1 shade lighter than skin, pressed on with sponge, never brushed—eliminates shine that betrays a “cheap” unit.
5. Cleaning cycle—make a 60 $ wig last 6 months
Daily
• Silk scarf at night, no cotton.
• 0 alcohol, 0 sulfate dry shampoo on the inside cap only (reduces skin oil breakdown).
Weekly wearers
1. Removal: spray 91 % alcohol along tape, wait 3 min, peel from back forward.
2. Clean lace: hand-rub with blue Dawn + 30 % isopropyl, soft toothbrush on underside only—never scrub the hair side.
3. Condition: dilute 1:10 silicone mix (Our #C60) in spray bottle, mist mid-length to ends, rack-dry.
4. Re-tape: wipe residue with C-22, second wipe with 70 % alcohol, air-dry 10 min before new tape.
Monthly
• Deep cleanse: 15 min in 100 °F water + 2 g sodium bicarbonate, rinse, follow with 3 min keratin mask.
• Knot sealing: one light coat on dry underside, oven 120 °F for 8 min—extends life 30 %.
6. Quick order checklist (copy/paste into PO)
Density: 130 % Grad-100-130
Lace: French light brown
Knots: ½ bleach 1” perimeter
Colour: #1B root 1”, #4 mid, #6 tips (send colour ring pic)
Cap: 13×4, 2 cm stretch panel, poly strip perimeter
Elastic band: 2 cm adjustable, sewn, not clips
Packaging: net, folded lace out, no PVC box
7. When “cheap” is too cheap—red flags we reject at QC
• Hair length ratio <50 % full length (feels thick at root, see-through at ends).
• Grey hair not declared—turns orange after first dye.
• Single lace layer at crown—will rip on first comb-through.
• PU coating on whole cap—sweat rash guaranteed within 48 h.
Bottom line
Buy the best lace & knot work you can afford, then save money on density and length. A 130 %, 14” French-lace unit with bleached knots and proper after-care will always look more expensive than a 180 %, 24” monstrosity that frizzes in week three.
